As some of you may know by now, Ken Dunn has recently retired as an Officer in the 5th West Bromwich Company after serving 75 years in The Boys’ Brigade.
Ken started his time in the 3rd West Bromwich Company before moving to the 5th due to the shortage of Officers who were serving their country. Ken has held a number of positions within Brigade locally, at Battalion level and nationally including Swimming Officer at camp as well as Company and Battalion Band Master and Band Controller at both the West Midlands Band Contest and the Boys’ Brigade National Marching Band Contest for many years. He has taught many young people how to play an instrument including side drum and bugle.
This morning we were pleased to welcome Ron Vernon, President of the Mid Staffs and
Sandwell Battalion to our monthly Parade Service who on behalf of the Battalion presented Ken with a certificate marking his 75 years service in Boys’ Brigade.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ken for the many years of service and wish him all the best for a long and happy retirement.
