What have Junior Section been upto…

We have been busy as usual since Christmas. We attended the church pantomime (“oh yes we did”) where a fun night was enjoyed by all. The lads have all taken part in the Battalion picture competition. The theme this year was a winter scene and we had the difficult task of picking just one for each age group to send into the competition as they were all very good.

On the 24th March 4 Junior Section lads, 10 Company lads and 5 staff travelled to Boreatton Park PGL centre for a weekend away. We all had a great time doing sensory trail, Jacobs ladder, quad biking, aeroball, zip wire, trapeze, fencing and tunnelling. We were all challenged, both lads and staff, whether with the dark, the height or the physical effort required. However with team work and support from each other we all had a great weekend.

We have just started our 100 challenge to mark the 100th year of the Junior Section. We are aiming to do 100 challenges over the next year e.g. blowing a 100 bubble, planting 100 bulbs (you get the idea). We Started the challenge off by collecting 100 lollypops for children having treatment for cancer.  Chemotherapy leaves a horrid taste in their mouths and sucking on a lolly helps get rid of this taste.

We currently only have 7 lads but would love some more so if you know of any lads aged 8 to 11 please point them in our direction.
