Following the great success of our last years Christmas Tree Festival, we are pleased to confirm we are to hold our third Christmas Tree Festival 2018. It is to be held at Wesley Methodist Church, 291 High Street, West Bromwich, B70 8ND on Saturday 8 December from 11am till 5pm.
In 2017, over 25 beautifully decorated trees filled our church from a number of youth organisations, clubs, local businesses and schools. Over £900 was raised for church funds plus over £160 for the Sandwell Parents for Disabled Children charity from the sale of decorations for the Memory Tree.
Entry to the Festival is free but donations are welcome and will go towards Church funds.
The “Memory Tree” will return, where visitors will be able to write the name of a loved one or event on a Christmas decoration and have this placed on the tree. Decorations will be £1 and all proceeds will this year go to the “Voices of Hope” choir, Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals (SWBH) NHS Trust’s first choir for cancer patients, survivors and their carers.
A Christmas Fair will also take place on the Saturday which will include Christmas gifts, books, crafts, pickles and cakes and tombola. Refreshments including bacon or sausage sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks will be available on the Saturday only.
On the Saturday evening at 5pm there will be a Carol Concert celebrating “The Top Ten Favourite Christmas Carols” which will include a group of brass players made up of members of “The Staffordshire Band”, Midlands Area Champions & Runners-up at the National Finals 2018. Refreshments will be available after the concert.
And on Sunday 9 December we will have the Christmas Youth Service at 11am till 12pm and carol service at 6.15pm till 7.15pm.
